Prise the boards up at the edge of the room so that furniture covers the damage. A large screwdriver or chisel can be used to make a gap for inserting the crowbar. Lever one end up and jam an old screwdriver as far down away from the lifted end as you canso that the free end is held up in the air away from the joist.
On the board that you are trying to lift you need to examine it and find the nails holding the board to the joist then draw a cut line using a ruler and marker penpencil between the nails.
Cut along the groove with a tenon saw or jigsaw if you need to remove a complete panel. Be careful though as the wood can split as it lifts. DIY expert Jo Behari says. Now a suitable saw needs to be used to cut the tongue off from each side of the board to be lifted.
